Get out of the resort - If you stay at a resort, leave! Make sure that you get a chance to see both the Dutch and French sides of the island. The French side has great restaurants ...

The upcoming Rails release will feature both thread saftey and connection pooling. It'll be interesting to see some performance numbers around this release of the framework.

St Thomas didn't get directly hit by Hannah or Ike, but we still felt some of the effects. Here's a video I shot from our office in Yacht Haven Grande.
This whole experience reminds me a little of Jurassic Park, I keep wondering when the T-Rex is going to come lumbering ...

Just got back from an amazing weekend in Sint Maarten (more posts coming). One interesting part of Sint Maarten is Maho Bay. This beautiful beach just happens to be directly in the takeoff and landing path of Princess Juliana Airport. Of course hilarity does ensue:
