Call it fate…

Last week the team did an amazing job finishing a huge amount of work in order to get off the island in one week instead of two. A combination of late nights, team work, and a certain level of stubbornness contributed to the success.
The day after we finished a 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit just over 50 miles away from the island. Then today I check the NOAA Hurricane site and find that Tropical Storm OMAR is headed right for the island!
..DEPRESSION IN THE EASTERN CARIBBEAN SEA STRENGTHENS INTO TROPICAL STORM OMAR... A TROPICAL STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR PUERTO RICO AND THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS...THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS...AND THE EXTREME EASTERN PORTION OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC FROM ISLA SAONA TO CABO ENGANO.
Spooky.
*** UPDATE *** Omar is now offically a hurricane: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/weather/10/14/tropical.storm.omar/index.html?eref=rss_latest
